    Caring Police Respond “CPR”

This program was developed to help officers - who have identified a community member in serious need of assistance – provide relief to the community in the face of adversity to help them get back on their feet.

    How it Works

When an officer responds to a call for service and identifies a serious need that, if provided for, would help an individual overcome an adverse barrier to success, the FOP may be able to help the officer provide the assistance that they may have otherwise not been able to.

How do you get the assistance?

    • Complete and submit the CPR request form to the FOP for review.
      • This form can be found at the FOP’s website www.nashvillefop.org. Look for the Caring Police Respond button in the Member resources area on the left. The form is available as an online fillable form, or a downloadable request form in PDF format.

    • Once completed, If using the online form, nothing else must be done. If using the downloadable PDF form, it can be scanned and emailed back to me at fopsmallwood@gmail.com, or the physical copy can be returned to the Andrew Jackson Lodge #5. Note: The online fillable form is preferred for a quicker response and processing time.

    • In the case of immediate need / emergencies, a request can be made to the FOP President, the President’s designee, or the Andrew Jackson Youth Camp Director via telephone. Note: This method is only siituations requiring immediate attention that cannot wait for review.

    • FOP President: (615) 474-8898 (James Smallwood)
    • Andrew Jackson Police Youth Camp Director: (615) 870-8017 (Allen Herald)

    • A committee has been established to review and approve/deny each application.

    • Once the committee has reached a decision, the officer will be notified (this usually happens within a matter of minutes or can take up to an hour).
      • If approved, the FOP will make every effort possible to ensure that the requesting officer can be present upon delivery. This is to ensure that the officer can develop a stronger bond with the community he or she works in.

    • To qualify for assistance, MNPD personnel must submit a CPR Request form. Individuals calling the FOP directly for assistance will be denied. Please refrain from suggesting this to individuals who might inquire about getting assistance. An officer’s involvement is paramount to the success of this program.

If you should have any questions regarding this new program, please do not hesitate to contact the FOP.
